We are blogging live from the MSC Divina and received some amazing news. MSC Cruises will be building not one, but TWO new ships. We have been experiencing the beautiful Divina ship all week and couldn’t be more thrilled to know MSC is adding to its current fleet of 12 ships. The new ships are scheduled for delivery in 2017 and 2019. Each will accommodate up to 5,700 passengers and over 1500 crew members.
MSC Cruises Executive Chairman Pierfrancesco Vago shared that “The new prototype will be the biggest cruise ship ever built by a European ship owner and the most versatile and flexible of the world: not only will it be able to call in most of the ports and destinations on earth, but it will have extraordinary features that will make it the perfect choice at sea, in summer and in winter. “
The new ships will include features such as specially designed cabins for families and an extended MSC Yacht Club, known as the ship within a ship concept.
As more details are released about the new builds, we will be sure to share them with you. We are not sure how they will top the Divina in its style, elegance and awesome experience at sea.
In the meantime, we are going to get back to some of the many activities on the Divina. (Only one more day after today. Insert sad face here)
